Established in 2009, Nature’s Step Organic Wines is a family owned wine company created by a group of passionate grape growers, set out to create a new style of organic wines. Our vision is to enrich your wine drinking experience with fresh and fruity wines that are affordable and better for you.
Based at Virginia, South Australia, the Nature’s Step team has 3 generations of grape growing experience behind them, dating back to the early 1950’s in Greece where vineyards were farmed organically to achieve fruity, clean and pure wines. Today, over 60 years later, the family continues to farm using organic practices to achieve exceptional Australian organic wine.
In 2010, Nature’s Step released its first organic white wine; 2010 Sauvignon Blanc. Today, under the guidance of Joanne Irvine, Senior Winemaker, Nature’s Step now includes a delightful organic Chardonnay and an organic Pinot Grigio. The Nature’s Step organic wine range is a collection of approachable wines showcasing superior fruit quality from this fantastic wine region.
Managing Director, Ken Carypidis, manages the vineyards in an organic manner – without the use of synthetic chemicals or fertilisers. He focuses on minimising inputs to build a sustainable organic farm, which creates healthier soils and root systems. This produces grapes with rich fruity flavours and ultimately, healthier and tastier wine!
Senior Winemaker, Joanne Irvine, plays an imperative part to the team, creating exceptional wines under the Nature’s Step label, including a “wild ferment” Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. Joanne has over 16 years experience in the winemaking field, both nationally and internationally. Some of Joanne’s achievements include: 2014 Baron of the Barossa, 2009 Barossa Winemaker of the Year, 2008 Telstra Businesswoman of the Year State finalist and 2006 International Wine Challenge Red Winemaker of the Year.
We trust you will enjoy this wine range!
